About the Department of Pharmacy

Department of Pharmacy, City University was established in 2015. It is one of the top universities providing pharmacy education in Bangladesh. The pharmacy department is one of the most advanced and well-established departments of the university as well as in the country.
Worldwide, especially in Bangladesh, the pharmacy industry is vibrant and expanding quickly. Due to its significant impact on our healthcare system, "Pharmacy" has consistently been a top choice for those pursuing higher education.
In response to the rapid advancements in the pharmacy field, the Department of Pharmacy's curriculum is updated on a regular basis to reflect the latest information and state-of-the-art technologies.

Entry Requirements for New Applicants

  • Candidates must have a minimum aggregate GPA of 8.00 out of 10 (on a scale of 10), with no grade lower than 3.5 in SSC/O Level/Equivalent and HSC/A Level/Equivalent.

  • They must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.50 in Chemistry and Biology in both SSC and HSC examinations. A minimum GPA of 3.00 in Physics and Mathematics (on a scale of 5 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent) is also required. For “O” Level and "A" Level candidates, they must have a B grade in Chemistry and Biology, and a minimum C grade in Mathematics and Physics.

  • Candidates having no Mathematics or failed in the subject at the HSC/"A" Level or recognized equivalent exam may be admitted, but they need to take an extra 3 (three) credits course on Mathematics relevant to the B. Pharm. curriculum.

  • For admission into the B. Pharm course, candidates must complete the admission process within 3 years from the year of publication of the HSC or equivalent examination results.

  • Foreign students must have passed 12 education years and obtained the same grades in recognized equivalent examinations from foreign recognized institutions. They must also get an equivalence certificate from the Pharmacy Council before admission. Recognized equivalents include Education Board, Madrasah Board, and Bangladesh Technical Education Board, etc.

  • Newly admitted students must complete their online pre-registration process in PCB within the first three months of their first semester through the Department of Pharmacy of City University.
